Cycling, swimming, hockey – phases of movement depicting moments of human will and the desire to win. Passion for sport and enthusiasm for the Olympic spirit characterize sculptor Zdeněk Němeček. How do we perceive the message of his work today? This multimedia documentary exhibition provides a way to understand his approach. The sculptures, created in communist Czechoslovakia, draw us into the current debate about the meaning of sport, culture, politics, and their intersection. The exhibition features a rich accompanying programme.
The exhibition take place from June 5 to July 31, 2024, in Prague at the UM Gallery at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
Opening on June 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
